Welcome to mydesertdeals' New Blog

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. My name is Mary and I plan to use this blog to tell you about  projects going on at our house. This will include the things I sell online at www.eBay.com and www.Etsy.com. I will also be using it to let you know of any news and promotions, ect, from my shops. I hope to give you some ideas for things to do, too!
I would like to say from the beginning that my talents and ideas are no better than anyone else’s. I believe all the things I have are from God and that I could do nothing without Him. I want this to be a place to share ideas and learn from each other. I look forward to your comments!
My selling name on both of the sites I sell on is mydesertdeals so I hope that doesn’t confuse you.
Right now my most popular items are the hair nets. These nets are made in the bun cover style (I may use those terms–hair net & bun cover-  interchangeably, but I am referring to the same product). The nets come in two designs: the Flower Style and the Traditional Net Style. My best seller is the black flower style. I crocheted this hair net by hand using black size 10 cotton crochet thread.  The outside round has a black elastic pony tail holder crocheted into it. This helps the cover to form around the bun.  This hair net will fit most average small to medium size buns.  If you have lots of thick hair you will probably need a bigger size.  If the hair net is a little too big, it can be tucked under with hair pins.
I use a homemade hair net every day and I love it! I can use one for months and it doesn’t wear out nearly as quick as normal hair nets. And I use lots of hair pins!
The hair nets are useful for any occasion and work perfectly for Amish and Mennonite hair styles. They fit most types of hair buns even though the nets are made round.  I use them on all kinds of buns, including flip-style buns.
You can view this hair net at:
You will have to select the 'Black Flower' option. Click on the picture or choose 'Black Flower' from the drop-down menu.
Check back soon for more updates and let me know what you think! I'm always looking for new ideas.
